I've made a change to my photogalleries... instead of hosting everything myself, I've signed up with Smugmug.  It's a great site, so check out my photos there.

Wow, it's been a *long* time since I've updated this page... I finally got off my butt and posted up pictures from my cousin Stacey's wedding. Haven't had time to put up any interesting captions... those will have to come in a little bit. Check out the pics here.

Well, I've done my job as an American consumer... I bought the computer I talked about in my last entry:

Components:

Shuttle SV24 barebones computer
Intel Celeron 1G
Generic DVD ROM drive
Generic 3.5" floppy
BTC Keyboard
BTC Mouse
Quantum LCT10-30 IDE HD
256 PC133 DIMM

I actually had the Memory and HD lying around, so I didn't need to purchase those parts.

The system was a snap to put together. It's late and I'm planning on writing up a full page later on, but my first impressions are:

- It's small! Really light and tiny.
- Integrated components seem good. Good video, decent sound.
- It's fast! Quick boot to Win98, websites come up quick.
- It's noisy! Yeah... I was hoping this would be a quiet computer, but it seems the stock fans are quite loud. I've already placed an order for replacement fans... I've heard that replacing the fans can make this computer virtually silent.

<yawn> Ok, off to bed. I'll post more details when I get a chance to play with this.

Ever seen Shuttle's SV24? It's a barebones computer that's the size of a toaster! For a couple of months I've been itching to get one. It's a quiet, energy efficient, self contained computer in a slick aluminium case. (Note the size compared to the CD!)

The big attractions are built-in USB, Firewire, Ethernet, Savage4 Video and TV-Out. The system minus processor, hard drive, CDROM and memory is $250. Fortunately, I have most of the other parts lying around my bedroom, so I could probably put the thing together for $350.

Maybe I should make another Fry's run tonight... If I do, check back here for my follow up thoughts!

I've been checking out a lot of other peoples' personal websites. So many things to be inspired by! The best collection I've found so far is: The World's 100 Best Real People Websites aptly named, no? I'm trying to get fresh ideas on web layout, nav bars, etc. The struggle is a balance between something that looks cool and something that isn't a total pain to update.

Today was the superbowl... I'm proud to say that I didn't watch one minute of it. Not a second! Never was a football fan anyways.

Took Eve out to dinner tonight at Il Postale. Cute restaurant in downtown Sunnyvale. We both had the linguine and clam sauce. (Linguine is one of my favorite dishes, BTW.) I heard that they converted an old Post Office into this restaurant. I was pretty impressed with the food. Prices were reasonable and service was good. Recommended.

[Big changes made to the layout, tablelized the friends page. Added Mom and Dad to the Family section.]

january 31, 2002

New section up today! Check out ME. Also, added more pictures in the friends section!

january 30, 2002

Added lots of new pictures to the Aquaria page.

january 28, 2002

Added a page documenting my adventures at Whistler, Canada. Check out the photos!

january 25, 2002

Took off the side navbar and moved it to the top. I think it looks a lot cleaner now. Also added more content to the Aquarium page.

january 15, 2002

Beefed up the Family and Friends pages. Take a look!

january 10, 2002

Ok. Figured out how to upload pages from Dreamweaver. That sure beats FTPing all of the files by hand! I started adding some content to the friends pages and aquaria as well.

january 9, 2002

Couple more changes to the page layout. Dreamweaver layout tables are pretty cool even if I don't understand them quite yet.

It's up! After months and months of procrastinating, I've finally put the skeleton of this website up. All I've got are three silly pictures of my sister Rachel. Click on the 'family' link on the left to see them.
